Energy labeled products consume less electricity during usage, and thus reduce the carbon dioxide emitted during generation of electricity. Currently in Taiwan, 660 g of carbon dioxide is emitted to generate each kWh of electricity, and the purchase of one labeled air conditioner is equivalent to planting 33 trees under normal usage conditions in reducing carbon dioxide emissions, while purchasing one refrigerator is equivalent to planting 40 trees.
