Ventilating Fans for Bath Room Use:

Energy Efficiency Criteria and Labeling Method for Energy Label Qualified Ventilating Fans for Bathroom use
No. En-Tech 10004045290
Promulgated and effective August 1, 2012

I.The scope of application, energy consumption test method and energy efficiency criteria for the Ventilating Fans for Bathroom use(“products”) applying for Energy Label certification shall meet the following requirements:

(1) Scope of application
The product shall meet the requirements of CNS 10597 –Ventilation fans for bathroom use, and with the blade diameter of less than 20 cm, or recognized by the Bureau of Energy of MOEA as ventilating fans for bathroom use.

(2) Energy consumption test conditions and method
1.The energy efficiency test conditions and test method of the product shall meet the requirements of the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) ISO 5801 and Air Movement and Control Association’s (AMCA) AMCA 210.
2.Test voltage: During the test, the applied voltage shall be within 110 V±2% or 220 V±1%.
3.The product’s test sample shall have airtight connection with the entrance of the standard air duct, and be under the rated test voltage and frequency. When the product is operated at maximum speed and under the reference static pressure of 2.5 mmAq (0.1 in Wg), the air volume (m3/hr, CMH) as well as the corresponding power consumption (W), power factor, ambient dry and wet bulb temperature (℃) and atmospheric pressure (kPa) shall be measured.
4.The measurement of air flow for the product shall be conducted in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 5801 and AMCA 210. The measured air volume shall then be converted to nominal air volume under the standard state of one atm and 20 ℃.
5.The energy efficiency value of the product shall be calculated as follows:
Measured air efficiency value = Nominal air volume (m3/hr) / electric power consumption (W)

(3)Energy Efficiency Criteria for product
The energy efficiency value of the product shall be no less than 7.00 m3/hr/W.

II.Notes on labeling of energy efficiency value:

(1) The name and address of the label user shall be clearly displayed on the product or product packaging.
(2) If the label user is an agent, the name and address of the product manufacturer shall also be clearly displayed on the product or product packaging.
(3) The product’s power consumption (W), power factor, blade diameter (cm), labeled air volume (m3/hr, CMH) and energy efficiency value (m3/hr/W, CMH/W) shall be stated in the product catalog.
(4) The product’s blade diameter (cm) shall be rounded to integer; the nominal air volume and energy efficiency value shall be calculated and rounded to two decimal places.
