Electric Storage Tank Water Heaters:

Energy Efficiency Criteria and Labeling Method for Electric Storage Tank Water Heaters
(Revision promulgated and in effect May 25, 2017)

1.The scope of application, energy efficiency test conditions and method, and energy efficiency value for Energy Label qualified electric storage tank water heaters “products” shall meet the following requirements:

a.Scope: The qualified products shall be as defined in CNS 11010 or recognized by the Bureau of Energy of MOEA as Storage Tank Water Heaters.
b.Test conditions and Test Method for electric storage tank water heaters:
The test conditions and Test Method Standardized for standardized 24-hr keep-warm energy consumption (Est,24) shall meet the requirements of CNS 11010.
c.The Energy efficiency criteria for Electric storage tank water heater:

2. Notes on product labeling of energy efficiency for Energy Label:
a. The name and address of the label user shall be clearly displayed on the product or product packaging;
b. If the label user is an agent, the name and address of the product manufacturer shall also be clearly displayed on the product or product packaging;
c. The product’s Nameplate Capacity (V) and Standardized 24-hour warm-keeping electricity consumption shall be stated in the product catalog;
d. The product’s Nameplate Capacity (V) shall meet the requirements of CNS 11010. The product's Standardized 24-hour warm-keeping electricity consumption (Est,24) shall be calculated to 4 decimal places with the 5th decimal place rounded-off.
