Energy Conservation Labeling Program Requirements for Clothes Washers
(Revision promulgated and in effect March 1, 2006)

1.The Energy Label qualified clothes washer products shall meet the requirements of JIS 9606, under the test conditions of maximum wash capacity, high water level, standard wash cycle, washing-cleaning ratio > 0.8, washing-rinsing ratio > 1.0, water removal > 45%, and be tested using the test conditions and methodology approved by the energy regulating competent authority. The measured and converted full cycle cleaning and rinsing power consumption shall be less than 0.013 kWh/kg clothes washed.

2. Notes on product labeling:
 a. The name and address of the label user shall be clearly displayed on the product or
   product packaging;
b. If label user is an agent, the name and address of the product
   manufacturer shall also be clearly displayed on the product or product packaging;
 c. The full cycle power consumption (kWh/kg clothes washed) shall be stated in the
   product catalog;
 d. The measured power consumption value shall be calculated to three decimal
   places, with the fourth decimal place rounded-off.
